Tuesday's Tournaments:
I was hoping to start a post today that would be the first of many Tuesday posts that gives bloggers an extra place to enter their giveaways but I haven't quite figured out the Mr. Linky thing. I'm also trying to figure out how to make my comments seen underneath the post. If anybody wants to share their blogger wisdom I would appreciate it. onceuponaqpon@gmail.com
So, since I can't start that today, we'll just have another coupon giveaway! It will end on Jan. 18, 2009.
There are several ways to earn an entry:
1. Leave a comment telling me you are a subscriber.
2. One extra entry for linking to me, leave a separate comment for this with a link back to your site.
3. Earn one extra entry for asking one question you have about using coupons ethically. I want to use these for a future post about coupon ethics!
With any of these, please leave a contact email.
I did figure out how to use random.org (Yaaaaayyyyy!!!), so that will be much easier than writing down all the names and pulling them out of the hat. My husband has been the name drawer till now.

ReplyDeleteI have read about some deals where people recommend using a manufacturer's coupon intended for a certain store (say BJs) at other stores. Is this ethical?

If you know a coupon has expired is it ok to present it to the cashier in hopes they don't notice? paigecram@comcast.net

ReplyDeleteIs is ethical to use computer tricks to trick the system into printing more than one of each coupon? I know the companies plan on putting so many of each coupon into the marketplace, so it seems not fair, but it's really useful to be able to get 2 or more of something good...

ReplyDeleteQuestion - is it ethical to use coupons that are printed online from sources that wouldn't be available to otherwise? For example a paper in another state has a coupon online and I print it?

Good question Kristy! I wonder about those coupons that say "one per household" do they mean each trip to the store? Or one per household period?
ReplyDeleteI know most coupons say one per item and those I completely understand but there are a few that say one per household and I have always wondered how they could possible enforse that. I mean you could go to two different stores and use two coupons.

ReplyDeleteMy question about coupon ethics is this: Sometimes when I do self checkout, I'm tempted to keep the coupons instead of putting them in the little slot so I can use them again. I know it's not right and I've never done it, but I'm tempted. Has anyone else ever done this?

I was told I could use a coupon B1G1 Free coupon on a sale that was B1G1 free already, to get 2 products free.
ReplyDeleteThe store didn't let that happen they just gave me half off the price of one. I was cool with that because it was cheaper.
Was the person who told me about this deal wrong, or was the manager wrong?
It seemed a bit iffy ethically to try and use them this way?

ReplyDeleteWhat is the best/easiest way to organize coupons? I have so many that it takes forever for me to sort them and am looking for an easier way.

ReplyDeleteIf a coupon says one per purchase does it mean one per item or one per store visit? If Progresso soup is 10/$10 and I have 10 $1 coupons is it ok to use them all at once?

Ok here is a coupon question! I was at the store and several different kinds of Kelloggs cereal were 5 for $10. They were on a special display together. One kind that I didn't like had a peelie coupon for $1.00 of 2 Kelloggs cereal. Is it ok to peel it off and use it for the other cereals?
