  2. Most of the studying together that we do is for spelling tests and I look for mnemonic devices to help. For example, my daughter was having trouble with skeptic and figuring out where the c and the k went. I told her to think KC (Kansas City). It worked. I do lots of things like that and it really helps them to remember how to spell words. It's fun for me, too! For my son, it's Grammar stuff, and I find ways of explaining parts of grammar, like the to vs. too thing - I told him that you only add the extra o when you are adding something in the statement. Now he gets it.

  3. My oldest is four so we have not had tests yet. We play song and rhyme games to help us remember things like a grocery list.
