American Heritage Education Foundation K-12 curriculum (A Review)


I know that you, my readers, should enjoy this resource/review! The reason is that this K-12 history curriculum is free and available to you! The Amercian Heritage Education Foundation sent a CD free of charge for me to use and review. (Request yours here!)

Today, I will mainly be giving you an overview of the elementary section because that is what category my son belongs to.

Here is a breakdown of what is offered to K-5 students.
Grade 1 - Amer Hist & Geog.: From Colonies to Independence: American
Revolution. Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence. Fourth of July.
Benjamin Franklin. George Washington. Symbols and Figures. Liberty Bell,
U. S. President, American flag.
Grade 2 - Amer Hist & Geog. : American Government: The Constitution. Government
based on the Constitution, government by consent of the governed, “We the People.”
Immigration & Citizenship. E Pluribus Unum, Statue of Liberty, newcomers to
America, idea of citizenship.
Grade 3 - Amer Hist & Geog.: The Thirteen Colonies: Life and Times Before the
Revolution. Colonies by region. Important cities.
Grade 4 - Amer Hist & Geog. American Revolution. Causes and Provocations. The Revolution. Making a Constitutional Government.
(A. Main ideas behind the Declaration. “All men are created equal,” inalienable and natural rights,responsibilities of government. B. Making a new government: From Declaration to Constitution.) Definition of republican government, Founding Fathers, Constitutional Convention. C. Constitution of the U. S. Symbols and Figures. White House, Great Seal.
Grade 5 - World Hist & Geog. England and the Golden Age to the Glorious Revolution. From the English Revolution to the Glorious Revolution. English Revolution
and Bill of Rights.


Each lesson comes with different hands on activities like crosswords, games, radio theatre skit, essays, etc. It is also designed so that multiple ages can be taught the subject matter at the same time (very important for homeschool families!).


Also available on this site is further teaching for 6-12 grades. The curriculum may be obtained in English or Spanish 3 different ways here: request a free CD, download for free, or request a print form for $19.50 per level.
